Turning alarming statistics into a story you can’t ignore.

01 / BRIEF

Research an endangered species and create an engaging three-minute animated video that tells its story, explains its current situation, and explores ways people can help improve its future.

The project combined research, illustration, storytelling, sound, and animation to communicate an environmental issue through a visually engaging experience.

02 / PROBLEM

How can complex information about an endangered species be communicated in a way that keeps an audience engaged?

The challenge was to transform research and factual information into an accessible visual story that could educate viewers without relying solely on text or traditional presentation methods.

03 / INSIGHT

A compelling story can make environmental information more memorable.

Rather than simply presenting facts about the species, the project uses illustration, movement, and sound to create a narrative that helps viewers understand its situation and connect with the subject.

04 / DESIGN INTENT

Create a fully illustrated visual world that brings the story of the endangered species to life.

Every graphic was illustrated and designed specifically for the animation, with visual storytelling guiding the viewer through the species' environment, challenges, and potential solutions. After Effects was used to bring the illustrations to life through movement, transitions, and animated sequences, supported by audio to strengthen the narrative.

05 / OUTCOME

The final project is a 90 second illustrated animated video combining original artwork, animation, research, and audio.

I designed and illustrated all of the graphics and animated the complete piece in After Effects, creating an educational experience that communicates the species' story while encouraging viewers to better understand its situation and consider how they can help.
